Northern Lights Postage Collage - Aurora Borealis | Cherish The Little Moments

Welcome Friends. 💜 I’m always in awe of the pictures I’ve seen of the northern lights, so I incorporated them in today’s design using the emboss resist technique. According to Google, the northern lights were visible in 10 states on November 13, 2025. Also known as the aurora borealis, the northern lights is a natural light display caused by solar wind particles from the sun interacting with Earth's magnetic field. These interactions result in vibrant green, red, and blue curtains of light in the northern hemisphere night sky. The visibility and intensity of these auroras fluctuate.

Alcohol Ink Playdate |Hero Arts Autumn Leaves | Card Crafter’s Collaborative (3C)| Fall Splendor

 

Welcome Friends! My card today features the Hero Arts Autumn Leaves Fancy Dies and an older leaves stamp set. Watch the video for alcohol inking tips and techniques that produce beautiful Fall hues. Card Steps (Watch the Video for Complete Tips & Techniques):

Die cut white panel using largest MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle Dies. Cut panel to 4” x 5 ¼”

1. From the white panel use two of the larger leaves from the Hero Arts Autumn Leaves Fancy Die and place in desired location on panel, die cut the leaves
2. Cut a cardstock (CS) layer for shaker backing. I used the palm green CS cut to 3 ¾” x 5. I first ran it through my die-cutting machine using a dots embossing folder to add texture
3. Die cut leaf/acorn from alcohol ink panel for embellishments
4. Prepare sentiment
5. Mix small amount of gold reinker with water and prepare to splatter
6. Use a paint brush to splatter gold drops throughout white panel
7. Also splatter gold drops throughout the palm green shaker backing
8. Use double-sided tape around the back perimeter of the white panel and liquid glue within closer to the leaves. 
9. Cut acetate to 3 ¾” x 5”. Place acetate on top to cover shaker bits; centered on the pack of the white panel.
10. Next use double-sided foam tape around the back perimeter of the white panel making sure it touches corner to corner so none of the shaker goes can escape. Remove release paper from tape.
11. Add antistatic powder to inside of shaker window(s)
12. Add shaker bits/sequins
13. Add shaker backing CS
14. Use double-sided tape or other adhesive to adhere your shaker to your card based
15. Add sentiment and other embellishments
